Basel has hosted the International Tango Festival for a long time. Maybe we ought to practice the tango. Who knows, next year, the international festival may be going on when we're spending a day there!
Tango may have been on the World Heritage list for three years, but it found a home in Basel decades ago. This year, the Basel School of Tango will be celebrating its 25th anniversary at the 14th International Tango Festival, OsterTango 2013. The Tango Festival will be held from the 28th of March to the 1st of April 2013. The best tango dance couples will be there, two stylistically very different orchestras and, of course, visitors from all around the world. Tango enthusiasts will be bedazzled with around-the-clock concerts, show dances, films, fashion and naturally, the chance to dance.
Among the many highlights this year there is:
• The concert "CARLA PUGLIESE" on the 29th of March 2013 at 9:30 pm at the Volkshaus in Basel.
• The Tango Show "HISTORIA DE TANGO" on the 30th of March 2013 at 8:30 pm at the Volkshaus.
• The Basel School of Tango celebrates its 25th anniversary on Sunday the 31st of March 2013 from 9:30 pm under the banner of "MAS BAILE QUE NUNCA."http://www.basel.ch/en/
